THE DISAPPOINTMENT OF GEOGRAPHY. There is an oasis in the moment. Don’t be afraid. The place we may have never wanted to be may still hold something we need. Part 1: When Our Geography Changes. Have we ever found ourselves in a place we never expected to be? What do I do now? Here’s a hopeful reminder for today: Just because we’re not where we thought we’d be doesn’t mean our story is over. Our geography may have changed, but our value hasn’t disappeared. Take a breath. There is still a road ahead. Don’t stop dreaming or believing for better!!

FORWARD FRIDAY — THE DISAPPOINTMENT OF GEOGRAPHY. Part 2: There Is Moisture Under the Broom Tree. Sometimes, the very place we never wanted to be becomes the place where we discover something we never knew we needed. The broom tree grows in harsh, dry country. Its shade may not look like much, but when the desert sun beats down, it can make a difference. There may be more moisture, more water, more depth beneath the surface than we realize.
The Dreams and Hopes are not dead!
Video Recap # 3
THE DISAPPOINTMENT OF GEOGRAPHY. THE DISAPPOINTMENT OF GEOGRAPHY. Part 3: Rest Is Not Quitting. Sometimes we are so busy trying to figure out what’s next that we forget to take care of ourselves right now. We don’t have to solve our entire future in a day. We may need sleep. We may need a trusted friend, a counsellor, our family, or someone who can simply sit with us and listen. Rest is not surrender. Asking for help is not weakness. And exhaustion is not proof that we’ve failed. Sometimes the next step forward begins with allowing ourselves to recover.
Video Recap # 4
THE DISAPPOINTMENT OF GEOGRAPHY. Part 4: Don’t Let the Sun Scorch Our Future. Some disappointments come with words that stay with us far too long. Don’t let somebody else’s worst words become the voice that directs your entire future. Get perspective. Seek wise counsel. Remember what is still true about us. We can learn from the past without living under its shadow. May the God of All Hope fill us with the correct picture of the real you and I today!
Video Recap # 5
THE DISAPPOINTMENT OF GEOGRAPHY. Part 5: Get Up. There’s Still a Journey Ahead. Elijah’s broom tree wasn’t the end of his story. After resting and being nourished, he continued his journey. God met him in the wilderness, spoke to him, and gave him direction for what came next. I look back at my own seasons of disappointment, and I can see how different my life became. New places. New people. New skills. Opportunities to help others that I might never have experienced if everything had stayed the way I expected.
Allow fresh wind and air to fill your lungs. There’s still a journey ahead! The Geography holds more than we can even think or imagine!
